Zombie Girl

I've been really in the mood to paint some horror lately. If fact, I did a little write-up for Tor.com that comes out some time next week where I mention briefly about how rarely you see an attempt at sexy zombies, so I thought I'd take a new swing at it. Kind of disturbing actually...

There rarely is "sexy" zombies - the only one I can think of is "Cemetery Man." I'm not sure if it is a film/book/comic market that should be exploited or gracefully let be. Great work as usual!

It's nice to see that someone can actually create a zombie (male of female) effectively without the use of red blood!

I agree - it is kind of disturbing ... but she's also sexy! And you did a wonderful job on her face!

Mike - yeah, I finally got to seeing that one not too long ago (it always makes me think of the poster you had in your room in Alburtis) and it was definitely the weirdest zombie movie I've seen. Actually, I kind of forget it even is one, probably because it doesn't really attempt to fit in the "zombie movie" genre. But a good one, so surreal. Also, I've never seen Repenetrator, the zombie porn. I hear it's pretty extreme.

Christine - thanks, it's going to be in a b&w horror anthology as a pin-up, so I figured I'd just paint it b&w as well. I don't think it's blood that says zombie, I think it's dirty gross texture

awww, too bad they wouldn't give you black white and red!!!

If you're still in a horror mood - didja see deadgirl? that out to squick you into an inspired state....

You're right - blood doesn't always say zombie, but it seems like every zombie piece of art has red blood all over it & counts on it to say "zombie."

Is your piece strictly B&W? I look at it & see a hint of blue.

Be sure & publicize the horror anthology it's in when you can!

I'll check it out, Marc :)

Yeah, there are hints of warm and cool here. It's painted with only Titanium White and Mars Black, but I left the file RGB with the subtle hints of color that a photo of a B&W piece will have because I like how it looks. It'll print in grayscale though
